"To go forward with repeal again without replacing it is not only insanity. It's a disservice to the American people at a time when they need better health care, not ideological posturing," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.
"I think that would create great anxiety for individuals who rely on the ACA," Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said. "I believe it would cause the insurance markets to go into turmoil, and I don't think that it's the right way to proceed."
"I regret that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failures of Obamacare will not be successful. That doesn't mean we should give up," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said.
The loss of support for the current health care bill from two more Republicans, Sens. Jerry Moran and Mike Lee, left the Senate majority leader without enough votes to move the bill forward.
