White House faces challenges getting COVID shots to the uninsured

For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government will not be able to ensure the shots for this fall's vaccination campaign will be available to the public for free.

When the public health emergency ended in May, so too did the administration's ability to purchase and distribute shots, tests and treatments for all Americans. The COVID vaccine is now commercialized, just like the flu shot and other vaccines.

Most health plans cover ro...

In her winding path to Sen. Cory Booker's (D-N.J.) office, Veronica Duron has played a role in the key legislative battles of the last 15 years.

No point at all: Please just end the daily White House press briefing

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has demonstrated once again why it's time to do away with the insulting spectacle known as the White House daily press briefing.

Rather than serve the public interest, the daily briefing has become a venue for White House propaganda. It has also become a springboard for shrewd, self-serving reporters who see the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room as a shortcut to easy notoriety. It has been this way for many years. It is...

White House seeks to go on offense after difficult August

The White House intends to use the danger of a government shutdown and the House GOP’s growing hunger for impeaching President Biden to go on offense this fall after a difficult August.

Congress has until the end of September to agree to a government funding measure, but House Republicans appear to be divided over the best way forward.

While the House, Senate and Biden agreed earlier this year to a deal to raise the debt ceiling, conservatives...

The Memo: Team Biden seeks to seize back the limelight with 2024 argument

President Biden and his allies are hoping to get back onto the center of the political stage in the coming weeks, framing next year’s general election contest to their advantage early on.

The move, which has at its centerpiece a $25 million advertising campaign, comes after a period during which Biden has been overshadowed by the legal challenges facing former President Trump and the early stages of the Republican presidential primary.

The president has also fac...
