President Trump told supporters in Ohio that Republicans "must keep their promise" on health care legislation as the latest GOP bill to repeal and replace Obamacare failed on the Senate floor.
President Trump will make a face-to-face appeal to Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pledges to hold a health care vote next week.
The loss of support for the current health care bill from two more Republicans, Sens. Jerry Moran and Mike Lee, left the Senate majority leader without enough votes to move the bill forward.
The Republicans' revised bill includes a provision for conservative senators that would allow insurers to offer cheaper, bare-bones insurance plans and, to win over moderates, keep some Obamacare taxes on the wealthy.
The revised bill will likely include an extra $45 billion to fight the opioid epidemic but will keep deep cuts to Medicaid spending as GOP leaders face mounting pressure to secure enough votes.
