President Trump will make a face-to-face appeal to Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pledges to hold a health care vote next week.
Republican Senate leadership is pushing forward with a vote on repealing Obamacare and Trump hosts GOP senators today for a White House lunch to talk about health care and other issues.
Three Republican senators have come out against Mitch McConnell's plan to repeal Obamacare, putting the brakes on second-ditch efforts to roll back the Obama administration's signature health care legislation.
"To go forward with repeal again without replacing it is not only insanity. It's a disservice to the American people at a time when they need better health care, not ideological posturing," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.
"I think that would create great anxiety for individuals who rely on the ACA," Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said. "I believe it would cause the insurance markets to go into turmoil, and I don't think that it's the right way to proceed."
