Republicans have vehemently complained that President Biden and Democrats are taking the country and the economy in the wrong direction. But now that Republicans control the House of Representatives, what specifically do they intend to do instead? Your guess is as good as mine, because Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) never laid out a detailed plan.
It’s not a new problem for Republicans.
Remember when Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act, or ObamaCare, in March...

Federal judge rules against HHS program allowing teens confidential birth control
A federal judge in Texas set aside a rule allowing teenagers to access birth control from providers participating in a federal family planning program without their parents' permission.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk on Tuesday likely means that teenagers who receive care through the Title X family planning program will no longer be allowed to do so confidentially.
Kacsmaryk ruled that the Title X program, which provides free and confiden...
Hospital monopolies are destroying health care value
While serving as an Indiana state senator, I wrote an op-ed that government is always the biggest problem in health care and had a successful fight to deliver some needed reforms. However, these problems with our health care system have primarily been created by the federal government and cannot be resolved at the state level. Therefore, as a congresswoman, I joined the Healthy Future Taskforce to develop health care policy solutions.
Growing up in the Soviet Union...

The USPSTF maintains its own five-letter grading system for medical services based on the level of certainty that it has regarding the net benefit gained. An A grade indicates that the or...
Court: Catholic providers can’t be forced to provide gender transition care
The Biden administration can't force a group of Catholic hospitals and doctors to cover or perform gender transition surgeries under an ObamaCare rule barring nondiscrimination in health care, a federal appeals court ruled.
In a ruling issued Friday, a three-judge panel on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously found the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) violated the religious beliefs of the plaintiffs, which included a group of nuns who run health clinics fo...

Intensive care: America’s patients need prevention, not procedures
With the recent rise in flu cases and the increase in respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases nationally putting a strain on the health care system, the burden on health care professionals across multiple professions is rising to levels last seen during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through each wave of the pandemic, in intensive care units (ICU) across the country, teams worked to pull patients back from the brink of death using invasive, life-sustaining therapies.

Obamacare enrollment sign ups jump by 40 percent in 2022
The number of people who signed up for health insurance through HealthCare.gov jumped by 40 percent compared to last year, President Biden said on Friday.
"Right now, four out of five folks who sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act can get healthcare coverage for $10 a month or less. These lower rates were set to expire on Jan. 1 of this coming year, but instead we were able to extend them," Biden said during remarks addressing business and labor leaders. ...
