Have you ever found it weird how federal tax cuts always “expire,” whereas tax hikes last forever? It’s not by accident, it’s by design.
In looking at what the Biden-Harris administration has done in the past, and what she admits she wants to do in the future, there are only two certainties in life: death and Kamala Harris planning to raise the hell out of your taxes.
There is a Rorschach test for every American on tax policy. Everyone views income in one of two wa...

Harris avoids getting too detailed as she battles with Trump
Vice President Harris has avoided getting into the nitty-gritty of detailed policy positions as she seeks to win over centrist voters from former President Trump.
While the vice president has outlined a tax plan and has proposals to lower housing costs and to combat price gouging, she hasn’t gone into detail on plans to fix the immigration system, fight climate change, curb gun violence and expand access to health care.
Harris has said she wants to bring back the bip...
Biden’s climate law got zero GOP votes. Some Republicans think its energy tax credits are worth saving
As President Biden’s signature climate law spurs energy investments in Republican-led districts, many Republican members are getting on board with keeping at least some of its tax credits — including the Speaker of the House.
The law, which included a historic investment in climate-friendly energy sources, got no GOP votes when it passed in 2022.
But now even Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is saying he may want to preserve some of the credits.

Republicans block Senate Democrats’ IVF bill
Republicans on Tuesday blocked a bill that would have created a right to access in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments and mandated that insurance plans cover the practice, deriding the vote as a political ploy.
Senators voted against advancing the bill, 51-44, marking the second time Democrats have sought to put Republicans on the record on the contentious issue. Sixty votes were needed to open debate on the measure.
Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa...

Vance revives old GOP fights on ObamaCare insurance coverage
Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) on Sunday floated an idea that would turn back the clock on covering people with preexisting conditions, relitigating a position that was a hallmark of GOP proposals to replace ObamaCare during Donald Trump’s presidency.
In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Vance said Trump’s health plan would “promote choice” in the health system by separating sicker people into different health insurance coverag...

Democrats bet Harris will move left as president
Democratic lawmakers are giving Vice President Harris a pass on her policy flip-flops and efforts to tack toward the political center, confident that she’s still a progressive at heart and will fight hard to achieve their goals on tax policy, climate change and other priorities.
Even the Senate's most liberal Democrats say they aren't worried about Harris backing away from her previous support for Medicare for All or a fracking ban because they believe she will push hard to re...
Vance says ‘of course’ Trump has a plan ‘to fix American health care’
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the Republican nominee for vice president, said "of course" former President Trump has a plan to "fix American health care" in a Sunday interview and also outlined several benchmarks of a health care framework.
"He, of course, does have a plan for how to fix American health care, but a lot of it comes down Kristen to deregulating the insurance market so that people can choose a plan that actually makes sense for them," Vance told NBC News's Kristen Welk...
